Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Sloe Gin’s main ingredient is Blackthorn or Sloe, Prunus Spinose as its also known. A plant steeped in myth and legend. The berries are harvested after the first frost, and once washed and macerated in Monkey 47 Dry Gin, they are left to rest for four weeks. This lets the sediment settle to the bottom of the tank. The Macerate is then drawn out from the top. The results are filtered several times before being added back into the macerate,  then water is added to bring the alcohol content down to 29%.
