White wines are made with much less skin contact than red. They vary enormously in colour from virtually colourless to deep gold and even, in extreme age, deep tawny. They are made in virtually all wine producing regions, although in hot regions some form of refrigeration is usually needed to produce white wines suitable for modern tastes.
